JWs using 'apostate' phraseology?

i've mentioned before how a regular pioneer used the phrases "tight-pants tony" and "don't drink the kool-aid".

well the other week, a different regular pioneer, and elderly one in fact, was talking about the simplified watchtower being discontinued and the normal one replacing it, and she said 'i guess they're just gonna dumb-down everything'.

then too even the org itself used the words "fade" and "shun" in recent articles, words that were previously shied away from.. anybody here experienced something similar, a seeming pimi saying something that makes you wonder if they've been sneaking ex-jw 'spiritual food' on the side?.

It is hard for anyone to not have heard some of the phrases. A few JWs have a sense of humor, but most are way too "serious" to laugh at themselves. I got caught wearing every day socks.

As for the WT being directed to family........very few times do the solutions have any real value: ;study more, do FS together, never miss meeting, spend your vacation wearing a skirt, tie at Bethel. How about a solution like get enough education to support yourself and have a reliable car and home.

The present WT is maybe 6th grade level, the simplified is 3rd. And they do not seem to really know how to write at any education level. The new one (if we ever see one, I haven't found one yet) will probably be 4th or 5th, except for the big words they will forget to edit.

town of newburgh — the watchtower bible and tract society of new york is challenging nearly $200,000 in fire and other special district taxes assessed for three town of newburgh properties, including two hotels the organization bought to house volunteers helping build its world headquarters in warwick.. in a petition filed in orange county court last month, the umbrella organization for jehovah’s witnesses claimed that the town “either unintentionally as a mistake or intentionally and without lawful authority” miscoded the former hilton on crossroads court and the former hampton inn on route 300 for 2016, 2017 and this year.. with a combined market value of nearly $23 million, the hotel properties were not assessed town, county and school taxes for those years.

but the town assessed $196,000 charges for the orange lake fire district and lighting and water districts during those years.. newburgh also assessed $1,600 in special district taxes over three years for a vacant commercial property watchtower owns at route 17k and route 300.. “petitioner would not be required to pay the resulting unjust charges if its exemption from taxes had been justly, correctly, and lawfully granted and administered,” watchtower’s attorneys wrote in the organization’s petition in county court.. watchtower bought the two hotel properties in 2014 as it built its 1.6 million-square-foot headquarters on kings drive in warwick.

And what the heck is a retreat? I have never heard of those in JWs, just mainline Christendom.

So Mary has to go up there and work; not lounge around on streets of gold. It certainly tells how the annointed really feel about the rest of us; they get to go to heaven we don't.

As said many times, few if any of us want "fame and fortune". We just want a stable home, happy marriage, and MAYBE a boat or motorcycle. We sure don't want to be a broken down sweaty laborer when we are old, have arthritis,

as a "deep pimo" i can say that there is a confirmed re-branding.

the coordinators committee formed a focus group from service and teaching committees.

the results of that group roughly three+ years ago, with gb approval, trickled down to the other committees and eventually into what we have been seeing before our eyes in the org and local congs.. pick an organizational level and see the shift.

They had to drop the types and antitypes. Everything had already been fulfilled and nothing happened. King of the North? apparently an overlapping "bad guy". I hate to say it, but I found the missing one: the one about cutting up the servant girl and sending her body to the 12 tribes (I can't remember the names right now). They always said it had to do with hospitality. Since I wasn't invited into the inner circle you all will never know how it could be made to fit. HAHA.

Relearning all we knew has discouraged a whole lot, and more than will admit it.

As for the CLAM, there is material, but I would not call it "studying", it is all presented for us to parrot. I actually used to enjoy working up talks and trying to make them interesting. Now all I do is read, and don't like it. The one or two "with householder" demos I got I despised. I failed to show when I had the 1914 talk from the Reasoning, just after the "new light", I just couldn't do the old material and recognized BS when I saw it.

17 admittedly, there have been instances where an “unbelieving husband” seems to prove that he is not “agreeable to staying with her.” he might be extremely physically abusive, even to the point that she feels that her health or life is in danger.

I know a sister who was coerced into staying with an abusive husband. He ended up raping her daughter by a first marriage. This was a case of a marriage that wasn't "made in heaven".

The dating rules, empahsis on not being worldly, marrying only a "spiritually strong" person all contribute to bad marrieages. As do the big expectations and lavish starts.

My own opinion is 2 people should "drift" into a relationship (marriage), and also the family group should encompass a clan.

Where can I get one of those goblets? As for deviating from the faith with "knowledge". they are masters of doing that. A lot of us worked all our lives, including "overtime: when it was available, and didn't buy any boats. And we syure as hell did need a retirement.

As for Timothy; is the one todays broadcast used the snot nosed teen or the 30 something. they have portrayed him as both at times to fit the narrative

it seems almost everyone managed to salvage his tie and razor.

I will not comment on those who lost homes, sad no matter what. They do mention that they will even offer aid to next door neighbors, not too sure how many doors away this still works. AND naturally, the big thing is they give spiritual comfort. They have put up meals, a lot in private homes, but not all, and the refugees are being housed by other families. The kicker is all this is being done by locals with local funding, except for maybe the mobile kitchen. I did not find any hint on donations, but expect the letter to be read soon at meeting.

Like no one else will do relief work, or aid their neighbor!

Remember the Wife of Lot

for family worship last night, our family watched remember the wife of lot movie since it will be discussed in the meeting this week.

there’s a few things i noticed that i didn’t think about last time i watched it.. first, the dad is very of course against his daughters going to college or even trying to find a good job.

yet he does accounting, which is a very good job that almost always requires a college education.

Not to differ, but Duck Soup IS a documentary on modern politics.

As to the middle class lives portrayed, I would even call them upper middle. And remember, there are lots of JW's who did manage to get college and become accountants, nurses, lawyers. They are the ones with an extra bedroom so they can take in a visiting dignitary and wine and dine him. None of the hideabed and hope the damned old truck will start.

If I ever get a time machine, I am gonna go back and bump both those girls.

I don't know someone elses belief all the time. And as far as I can tell a lot of prayers go up in smoke. I will give best wishes/thoughts to anyone, including mentioning prayer if I think it is appropriate to make them feel better.
